Private half day tour which covers the main highlights of Rhodes town and the beautiful white village of Lindos.
A perfect introduction for first-time visitors and cruise ship passengers!
You will have the opportunity to visit the Old Town, the Mandraki harbor together with the area where the Colossus of Rhodes once stood. Then you will walk through the ancient Acropolis of Rhodes and see the remains of the temple of Appolo, the stadium and the Amphitheatre. After that, we will continue on the East coast of the island and reach the traditional white village of Lindos, 50km away. You will have more than an hour stay to explore its narrow streets and visit the beautiful Acropolis on the top. The Acropolis in Lindos is the second most popular Acropolis in Greece after the Parthenon in Athens. Then we will return back to our starting point.
Half Day Rhodes Private Tour
You can extend your tour as much as you want. We are very flexible to any change in your program.
We can easily add an extra hour for lunch at an outstanding traditional Greek tavern or some free time at a beach of your choice. Alternatively, we can arrange a visit to a spectacular seaside tavern near the sea so that you can combine and enjoy both a fabulous lunch and some beach time.
We can meet you directly at the Airport or at the reception desk of your Hotel, Apartment or private Villa.
If you coming on a cruise we will meet you at the pier, at the correct dock. We are licensed to get into the dockside and our driver will be waiting for you just outside your cruise, holding a paper sign with your name on it.
We will start our tour with a drive around the walls of the Old Town of Rhodes – the biggest inhabited medieval town in Europe. It was built in 1300s from the knights of the order of St. John. The Medieval Town of Rhodes is inscribed in the World Heritage Sites List of UNESCO. This list recognizes the exceptional value of a cultural site so that it may be protected for the benefit of all Humanity.
If you want we can extend the duration of the tour with 1 hour and you can have also some free time to go through the Old town and explore it on your own.
After the Old town, we will continue towards the new part of the town and visit the Mandraki port where once stood the famous Colossus of Rhodes – one of the seven wonders of the Ancient world. The Colossus was a big statue of the god of the sun – Helios and it stood for 56 years when an earthquake destroyed it. We will stop for pictures of the area and you can also enter and see the Church of the Annunciation which is the biggest Orthodox church in the town with very beautiful handmade paintings on the walls and impressive chandeliers.
From there we will pass and see the Northern point of the island where the Aegean sea and Mediterranean sea are meeting each other and then we will stop for a panoramic view of the city from the Monthe Smith Hill.
Next we will visit the Acropolis of Rhodes. You can walk and explore the area and see the Temple of Appolo, the Ancient stadium and Amphitheatre.
From here we will drive 50km on the East coast of the island to the beautiful white village of Lindos. We will pass through many picturesque villages including the resort of Faliraki and Kalithea.
On our way to Lindos, we can also include a stop to a pottery factory where you will be able to see how beautiful ceramics are made. Rhodes has a long history of pottery going back many centuries at least to the time of the ancient cities. Replicas of designs produced in those times are still been manufactured today together with new modern designs in a younger generation. Vivid colors, especially blue, feature strongly as do certain motifs which are uniquely Rodian, the pomegranate flower and the stylized deer.
Before the village of Lindos, we will stop for a panoramic photo and a visit to the picturesque st. Paul’s Bay is also included. This beach is one of the most beautiful on the island with a stunning view.
Then we will leave you at the main entrance of the village and you will have at least one hour to explore the village and to visit its famous Acropolis. The Acropolis in Lindos is the second most popular Acropolis in Greece after the Parthenon in Athens.
Excellent tour by Rhodes Taxi Tours
Our guide, Agga, met us at the port in Rhodes on October 7 as soon as our shipped docked. Agga was very knowledgeable about the history of Rhodes, natural history of the island, the political changes Rhodes has experienced. He showed us amazing views of the north shore, drove us through New Rhodes (the city), and then through the island to Lindos. We very much enjoyed the Acropolis of Lindos. We also visited a pottery factory, which I was dubious about at first but it was a very enlightening visit with demonstrations of how the pottery is made and decorated.
Rhodes Taxi Tours was very responsive to our needs – we originally booked a tour for two but found another couple to accompany us. There was no problem adding the couple, which made for an even more enjoyable tour. I highly recommend this company. They are reliable and have excellent staff.
Great tour and Nikos was magnificent!
We travelled to Rhodes with our 2 young children (3&5) who both got ill while there (not due to any food issues) so had limited time to see the island. We decided to hire Rhodes taxi tours so we could see as much of the Island while understanding a bit about the history of it as a family.
We were picked up from our hotel at 8.15am by Nikos, our driver for the day. He was absolutely fantastic. He made the day with his exquisite knowledge of the history of Rhodes, his great personality and his accomodating of our 2 young children.
We thoroughly enjoyed the 6 hour tour and learnt a lot more about Rhodes in this time than we would have, if we had done the sight seeing on our own.

Agapitos was our amazing driver, it was so nice to walk off our cruise ship and start the day with a friendly face. We enjoyed all the sights, but especially the unexpected ones, like the pottery factory and demonstration. The best part of a private tour is the local knowledge of the tour guide. Agapitos steered us away from the crowded tourist beaches and took us to the fantastic Haraki beach. It was wide open, blue and beautiful, with a quaint, relaxing feel which is what we had asked for. At the beach we had the best meal of our entire European vacation, and I’m not kidding! The restaurant was called Spitaki Taverna, it was one for the memory books,arranged by our fabulous guide! By the end of the day we felt that Agapitos was like part of the family, and we can’t wait explore Rhodes further! When we go back, we will definitely be booking Rhodes Taxi again.

Efcharisto’ to Agapitos and he’s kidness and to Rhodes Taxi Tours… it was a great tour for my daughter (18) and I. We enjoyed the five hours and we recommend it to everyone. The driver explained us a lot and it was so interesting and very relaxing… Rhodes is a beautiful Island with a lot of stories…
